Default 169.12 Still Broken!

Every 169.XX release so far has had this bug in it:

http://www.huntsvegas.org/screenshot...nvidia_bug.jpg

This bug also shows itself on Oblivion menus, WoW character creation screen, Guild Wars account menus, etc. The reason I show a screenshot of Regnum here is because it is a native game that this bug shows itself in. Reverting to a pre-169 driver resolves this bug for all games I have seen it in. Some screenshots of this occuring during actual gameplay can be found here:

your running a 3d (crap)game in an emulator... expect problems... anyway the main menu screen of america's army 2.5(linux) has this bar'd corruption as well.

I can confirm the bug still exists with UT2004. It's not too much of an issue with the 8800GT, but the corruption makes the game unplayable with a 6600GT.

Regnum Online is a native game. I am not running it in an emulator. Read the whole post next time.

I can confirm this to!

We have only some native games on Linux, and NVIDIA destroyed the support for this.

The completely 169.x driver series is broken!

I still wait for a usable driver:

You aren't forced to upgrade, so quit whining please.

And Ohhh wow, thank you, this solves all my problems with the old drivers.

I hope to become something for my money before the expensive NVIDIA hardware is obsolete.

i switched back to the 100 series of drivers yesterday, sped my card up a whole bunch and fixed the 'bars' on america's army main menu screen.

It looks NVIDIA can't get out a working driver. I sent the attached screenshots to NVIDIA back in November and I can see that nothing was really fixed.

one question, because it solved the problems for ut2004 users:

in nvidia-settings 'Opengl Settings' the 'Image Quality' slider is set to what?

Try quality or high quality (I alway play with high quality and don't see corruptions - but I also only play ut2004).

And before the 'but it reduces fps' madness starts: is there really a difference between 120fps and 130fps?

Confirmed.
There is an OpenGL quality settings problem, do not use "High Performance"
