There was a recent article in National Geographic about how much of our old electronics is shipped to African countries where it is burned and then small amounts of copper and other metals are salvaged.

It's interesting how much of this stuff is manufactured abroad, and then we ship it abroad again as junk after 5-10 years.

I never owned those consoles. But did own a few others. The original red&white Ninentendo Famicom with the floppy drive disk system, which I gave it to a poor schoolmate in late 1980s. The original NEC PC-Engine with CD-ROM, PC-Engine SuperGrafx, both of which I kept in the storage for long time but evetually I had to throw them away with other electronic garbage. I had another PC-Engine SuperGrafx which gave it to my cousin in the mid 1990s. I still have the Sega Mega Drive and the cartridge-based SNK Neo Geo somewhere in the storage room, but they will be ended up in the trash eventually.

Forgot to add that I had Game Gear, and the PC-Engine handheld unit as well. They're all in the trash now.

I still have a Dreamcast,SNES, and even.......A 3D0! I wish I still had my Sega CD and 32x, but those were traded for the 3D0. If anyone reading this still has a Sega CD with Eternal Champions CD, please contact me.
