Default 197.12 - 8400 GS TV-out still unusable

I bought a Asus geforce 8400 GS to use the s-video out to drive a standard TV using an SVIDEO - SCART Lead. I am in UK so PAL-I. I am using Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 (MythTV setup)

The POST screen displays correctly on TV, but as soon as the nvidia 196.12 driver is started by X, approx 2cm of the screen is lost off the edge of the screen all the way round, making menus, start buttons etc unusable.

Card and 197.12 driver works perfectly with a VGA monitor.

I have tried forcing 'TVOutFormat' and 'TVStandard' but no change. 'TVOverscan' option is no use as it only makes the problem worse

Is a bug fix running on this one? - at the moment the card is unusable so if a fix isn't on the way then I'm going to have to get rid of it and buy one from another manufacturer - anyone got a recommendation. I just want analogue tv out - svideo to scart!!!

See link for someone else with the same problem
