I'm trying to use a tnt2 chipset-based card to drive a fixed-frequency monitor that requires an interlaced custom modeline.
It was documented in Nvidia readmes (sometime around the 4191 release) that certain Nvidia chipsets supported interlaced custom modelines. This feature has been broken since the 4191 release and maybe earlier. It is still broken in the 4363 release. Andy Ritger confirmed the interlace issue, and assured that it would be fixed at some point. Are there still plans to fix it? Thanks (ps: Not trying to be a pest, just trying to keep the issue on your radar) |

I can't help but get the feeling I'm being ignored...

Yes, it's still on our radar. No, you're not being ignored.

I've just spent the last few weeks trying to get 1080I going (1920x540p works fine though the TV thinks it's 1920x1080I so it doubles up the vertical lines causing the image to look skinny) on my GeForce FX 5200. Now that I've read this I can at least stop wasting my time on interlaced resolutions.
I'd really like to have Interlace working in the NVIDIA so that I can XVMC support in Linux along with the maximum resoltuion supported by HDTV. Chris Palow |

Andy Mecham posted on 04-30-2003 that "it's still on our radar". A year later and no progress has been made. The new 6800 cards are suppose to have an "On-Chip Video Processor". Sounds cool, but I definately will not be buying one of these cards until AFTER linux support is available for MPEG2 decoding to an interlaced display. John |
