Default Slackware 12 kernel 2.6.21.5-smp + FX 5200 not work

Hi folks... here is my tread...
I'm trying to install the NVIDIA-169.12 driver... It's seems to install without problems... the nvidia-installer doesn't returns me any error messages... BUT looking at the nvidia-installer.log I found this:

nvidia-installer log file '/var/log/nvidia-installer.log'

But the kernel module is build without problems

When I'm install the driver, I make a modprobe nvidia and the driver appears correctly on lsmod... But when I'm reboot the system it doesn't work... When I modify the xorg.conf with "nvidia" the startx break my system... the monitor turns black and the only way to solve it's reseting the system...
I already recompile the kernel without the RIVA module... Here's my xorg.conf:

# File generated by xorgconfig.

Section "Module"

# This loads the DBE extension module.

Load "dbe" # Double buffer extension

# This loads the miscellaneous extensions module, and disables
# initialisation of the XFree86-DGA extension within that module.

I tried to use many old NVIDIA drivers, with the same problem...
I don't know what to do...

I had the same problem. To fix it do it like this:

1. Install kernel sources if you dont have it.
2. Go to /usr/src/linux (or /usr/src/linux-[kernel-version])
3. Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare'
4. Install Nvidia drivers.
