Default Tweaking HP Pavilion DV9000 Notebook PC!

I would like some advise on tweaking my new HP Pavilion DV9000 Notebook PC. Everything from tweaking to making sure I get the best performance and value out of my new system.

I've got the same stuff you have.

You can't overclock the processor at all.

You can overclock the video card with rivatuner.

You can't do RAID on the 2x hard drives. They're separate and there's no RAID support.

NEVER SHUT THE LID TOO QUICKLY. The hinges bend and break. This is a poor quality hinge that they put on it. I've bought 2 sets of hinges in the past because they keep breaking.

That is all my advice...

No yours is a lot better.

I have a 7600 Geforce GO, a 1.66ghz core 2 duo, and 120gb hdd, and a non-HD dvd player.

Edit: and I have a 1400x900 screen not a 1680x1050.

Your notebook must have cost at least $2000.

No, one of the things I did before my time ended with the hp's retail division was to get the notebook for around $1,200 I took full advantage of all their discounts while I was
working with their retail team during the busy season. I had scored another deal on the HP BlackBird 002 and now this Notebook PC. Knowledge is power! Anyway, you're setup is nice to.

Grats. Im just about to buy this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220296

Dont really "need" a notebook but I thought a cheap one would be nice to have. Didnt want to spend over a grand.

I wanted at least a 17" screen and a 8600gt or HD2600 (ddr3 version) video card.

Anyways dont mean to pull your thread off topic.

No harm, you're always welcome to bring you're ideas or what's on you're mind around here. Sounds like a good plan for you! I love my system and the money was well worth it.
