Wink NVIDIA drivers not guilty directly in lockups

I long time have experience with hard lockups. And after small investigation I decided that the culprit is mobo options. I put a hand in all frequencies (cpu 2000 mhz, V core 1.2V, fsb 200mhz, memory 800 mhz, ht link 800 mhz, pci 33 mhz, pci-e 100 mhz). And I turn off "Spread Spectrum" options (it was turn on as default!) !!! Already week (16/7) was not lockups or freezes.
Btw, only After 1-2 month without troubles it will be possible to say that the problem is solved, I think.
Now I test without "idle=poll" and on kernel 2.6.24.4, NVIDIA drivers 171.06. so far, all is ok.

Seems solve with me with bios options... It remains to say which one ?!

Hmmm. Interesting find.

I'll have to try some of that with my box to see if it fixes my issue (hard lock on starting X).

I sometimes read these Linux forums purely so that I have some material to abuse my Linux-weilding co-workers with. To this end, the quote above is absolutely priceless. Thank you very much.
