it will run all those games well. though i dont agree with your choice of motherboard. nvidia chipsets have given some people problems. if you dont need SLI, you prolly should get a Intel chipset P35/X38/X48

Very nice stuff. Should work out nicely for you
A lot people around here will give you grief about the motherboard but really, since the first 6 months or so of the 680's release, I myself haven't run into any problems with the nvidia chipsets. Others may have had different experiences though.

I would consider this for your memory however. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145194 About the same price after rebates, give or take a dime ![]() It runs at lower CAS latencies. Depending on your board, you may need to manually up the voltage to 2.1 to get it to function at the 4-4-4-12 speeds, else it will drop to 5-5-5-15. Also, ensure your heatsink has clearance, the heatspreaders on this memory rise pretty high ![]() Using this now and I love it ![]() |

Ram... definitally not 2x2048, its like... 1.5 the price of 4x1GB. Why do i say no? because by the time your ready to move to 8GB, you'll want to go with DDR3, and you've thus wasted $$.
Also, may as well get the 780i unless its price is significantly different. |

i agree about the ram. but i was somewhat limited in budget. i had justr ecently built the same system somewhat, except with 2 9600 gt's.
As for the people with experiance problems with 680i's i hear you. But i have found you really have problems with every style of motherboard once and a while. I can go back many years. To the days of the first 'athlon' chips lol, and having to format install windows 15 times until it finally said ok it's good. And not once ever having to change anything. Right out of the box this mobo supported my wolfdale. No bios upgrade needed. All drivers worked perfectly. im currently running it right now. Installing lotro and crysis for dx10 benchmarks as we speak. You might be right i might have problems. And they might just suck. But for the price what can i say. I just built a top of the line system for under 800 bucks. I'll post benchmarks later.

dont get the 680i
i recently changed my 680i with 4 gigs for a x38 mobo with 2gigs ddr3 and couldnt be happier there was nothing wrong with my 680i but the x38 is certainly a better perfomer and overclocks easily edit: if in UK u can buy my BFG 680i SLI if you like (has latest bios and 4 gig memory installed) |

Perhaps changing the 680i board for either a 750i or 780i board so you have some future proof and a higher chance in overclocking the FSB.

already have it all installed and am playing crysis at 1280x1024 ah very high details. dx 10 mode and quite stable. as well as quite playable. havent experianced any single digit frame slowdowns yet. of course have no aa on. haven't run a benchmark yet, but definatly playable.
like i said it recognized the 45nm chip instantly. no bios update needed.
