I figured out how to enable AA if the option is grayed out for you. Mine was grayed out at 1920x1200 and this is how I enabled it. You need to go to this folder.

For Vista it's:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Ubisoft\Assassin 's Creed

And for XP it would be:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed

Open Assassin.ini in that folder with notepad.

Look for the line Multisampling=0

Change it to 1 for Multisampling 2/3 or change it to 2 for Multisampling 3/3. Save the file when you are done. This worked for me and got rid of those nasty jaggies.

DX9 FTW still.

It's surprising that the FPS don't take too much of a hit at 1920x1080 with the ini modded to multisampling level 3. Thanks man. It looks unbelievable.

they need to fix the hand model, he is not holding the sword, hand is open and sword just looks like it glued to his hand

edit: hand model seems to be only wrong during one of the cutscenes. After you get a sword back. he doesn't actually hold it, just is stuck to his hand. Later in the city is normal.

Honestly, Other then the higher resolution and AA the game looks very similar to the console versions... I don't see a large difference in the texture resolution.

Man... I expected 5 new pages of AC opinions since last night but most of it was trolling.

I've played around a bit with different combinations of DX10 and DX9. So far my favorite setup is to rename the DX9 exe to bioshock.exe and force 4xAA in the nVidia control panel. The result is smoother anti-aliasing without the performance hit of forcing it in the game.

I've deleted about 3 dozen posts from this thread. If low post-count trolls come in here, report them and DO NOT RESPOND. It just makes more work for the moderators to delete your posts as well.

Thanks
