I just bought the Netgear WNR3500v2 Rangemax Wireless N gigabit router tonight and hooked it up along with a 5 port 10/100 switch so now I have our Directv DVR (wired through switch), Xbox 360 (wired through switch), Sony N460 blu ray player (wired through switch), 2 desktop pcs (1 wired direct to router, 1 with wireless G card), 1 laptop pc (wireless G) all hooked to our network at the same time.

I ran a speed test and this is with 2 desktop pcs in use on the net and the Directv DVR downloading a movie from Video On Demand

Time warner just started offering a new tier of roadrunner in my area. Jumped right on it.

Yay new internet finally! Too bad I have to pay more and have way less of a dl cap than if I was in a better area. Still, it's nice to finally download over 1MB/s! Bout damn time!

my full speed is 25mbit down/7mbit up. I have gone as fast as 3 megabytes per second down and 800kb up. It's bell canada's fiber optic 25 that just got launched this year. All dsl in canada was 8mbit down/256kb up until now. Cable about the same minus the one guy posting here from quebec of which I don't know if he's dsl or cable. The 25mbit package costs about $60cdn per month. Had to get it since there are 3 gamers in the house.

Unexpected.
I pay for 25 down, 5 up. But it's been like this for a day or so. I am fully taking advantage of this

Seems like speedtest.net reports the highest speed attained during the test as opposed to giving you a throughput measurment.

Anyone know for sure?
