Is it me or does it run at ~36 FPS at any setting and then it crawls up to ~70FPS?

The original game? Yes, it did that... it was annoyingly inconsistent performance-wise, as well as being a resource hog.

Surprisingly enough R6V ran very well for me, never ranged dropped into the 50s or 60s even. Granted everything was on low @ 1280x1024 but the IQ was negligible I thought and the highest options just showed how poorly optimized it was.

But in that post I was talking about R6V2.

I'll restrain myself from a "you're killing my hobby you thief" lecture, since we've heard it all before and there's a 10% chance it's not applicable.

So I'll just say: Weird the performance fluctuates, but I had the same thing with the first game, as I said. I've read it was due to certain areas being streamed because of console limitations, but I don't know. Obviously none of us can really comment, since the game is not out yet.

It depends by what you mean as "out"

I'm just seeing how it is and so far I'm glad I have not bought it. If the performance somehow magically improves I might consider purchasing.

The actual US release will be the 16th. It ships to stores and pre-orders on the 15th. Just like Assassin's Creed shipped 8th, but you couldn't buy till the 9th. I already checked when I was at Gamestop picking up AC

^Indeed... should be in stores the 16th. I pre-purchased on Steam and it unlocks the 16th at 5:00PM (and for some reason they haven't released it for preload yet).

OK. Six will get his Tuesday, you get yours Wednesday, I'll get mine Thursday. Then we can talk about how fun it is.

Rainbows Six 2 and Ass. Creed are the first two games which propertly uses UT3 engine. AA works fine, and it really runs smooth. I hope they fix Frontlines: Fuel of War with 1.0.3 patch.
