Game continues to get better and better with super smooth performance. Here's some screenshots, all in 1680x1050 with max settings except for AA on 4:

Shot before the last was a cool moment where the fire extinguisher blew up and made the room all foggy, hard to see the enemies... I know that's sooooo 2001, but it was cool anyway. Last shot is the ranking system screen where you can see where you are and what you've unlocked. It applies to singleplayer now as well, and you get cool bonuses for headshots and such. Very cool addition.

I'm still not sure if Vegas and Vegas 2 use UE3 or a heavily modified UE2.5, but it's something along those lines. Vegas one suffered from very fuzzy textures and no AA options, but Vegas 2 looks much more crisp and has AA in the options menu.

Does Vegas2 use that crappy vasoline filter like Vegas had? Or perhaps UBI put the option to turn off postprocessing in the gfx menu?

Actually, can you post a screenshot of the gfx options menu please.

If you mean the HDR that made everything super glowing it doesn't seem nearly as bad in this game, and you could turn it off in the first game.

EDIT: Also, free multiplayer map from Comcast: http://gameinvasion.comcast.net/gameinvasion/r6v2/

They got rid of the vaseline filter, there's still some postprocessing, but it's not as blurtastic as the one in rb6v1

Here's a screenshot of the gfx options:

Cheers for that info and pic! Game sounds mostly proper.

question:

is R6 Vegas a first person shooter, or is it a fps that you have to command squads etc?

First person shooter with limited squadcontrol, it's not run and gun, but it's not really a tactical shooter either.

If you run and gun you'll get killed, quickly, but it has no tactical planning element either. It's mostly an FPS where you really need to use cover and check your killzones.

No, R6V1 and 2 both use Unreal Engine 3 (UE3). Splinter Cell: Double-Agent (a horrible game!) used Unreal Engine 2.5 (UE2.5).
