Default Is my system too ancient to keep up with the rat race?

Just been away from my computer for a while (moving to new home). I'm just wondering if my WC system is too ancient (compared to what's out now) for the latest games or upcoming games in the next year or so (last most taxing I know of was Crysis; I like shooters only)? I mean at this point would it be worth to sell to buy a faster gaming computer (just to sort of keep up with the rat race). If so, any suggestion as too how much I could sell this on eBay and what to buy instead.
