I have a rather old p.c. Its a athlon xp 4800 over-clocked to 2.9 gigs with 2 gigs of memory and a 8800gts video card with 320 memory. Would it be worth it to buy 2 moore gigs of memory and a new video card ex. 8800gtx or better or just build a newer system I have windos xp now and would like to up-grade to vsta any thoughts on this ?

it kind of depends how you want to play your games imo. Your machine is similar to mine, i can play most games, other then crysis, pretty maxed at 1680x1050. Bioshock, ET:QW, COD4, all source engined games.... I suspect my stuff will be ok for some time.... Vista 64bit works fine also....

I'd go with the faster card right away. A 320MB GTS just isn't going to cut it, but a 2.9GHz X2 isn't that bad either. If you stay on XP for a while then 2GB should be fine. If you have the cash then sure, upgrade the whole system, you will see a benefit, especially with a faster gpu.
