Unhappy can't set resolution to be 800x600

At first I declare that my operating system is Linux FC6, and the vedio card is GeForce 7600, the vedio card's driver is "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.09-pkg1.run".

I can't set the resolution to be 800x600 if I use my LCD monitor MAYA(TFT1980), if I do this, the monitor will give out a information "Input is not supported". If I use another LCD monitor ViewSonic VE7200mb and set the resolution to be 800x600, the whole screen becomes total black. But if I use other resolution, for example, 640x480, 1027x768, 1280x1024, the two LCD monitor is normal. And if I use a very old CRT monitor SAMSUNG SyncMaster 550s, it's ok for all resolution.

Because I am working with a game library ClanLib recently, and I found that I can't make the window generated by ClanLib( is similar to the window generated by OpenGL) to be fullscreen, so I add following block to the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "Module"
Load "dbe"
Load "extmod"
Load "fbdevhw"
Load "glx"
Load "record"
Load "freetype"
Load "type1"

and the problem is resolved. I do this according to the post http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...63#post1230463.

The log file in the attachment is generated when I am using the LCD monitor MAYA(TFT1980) and set the resolution to be 800x600.

Default Re: can't set resolution to be 800x600

Try to disable DynamicTwinView and look at the output of 'xrandr' in a console to see what is the real vertical refresh rate of the 800x600 resolution. No need to actually switch to 800x600, you can do so anytime as it will just print a list of available resolutions and freqs.

Then you can try Option "ModeValidation" "DoubleScanPriority" to change the order of frequencies.

See the README for details and explanations of these options.
