Default Panasonic PT-AE2000 and 1080p60: problem

Hello

I have been happily running a CentOS 5 machine with a nvidia 8600GT card for a while.
Machine is running a stock 2.6.24 kernel with the 169.12 nvidia drivers.

Until not long ago, I could configure my Panasonic PT-AE2000 in any resolution I tried: 720p, 1080p, 1080i/60 etc...

For the past few weeks, whatever I do, the screen will be set in 1920x1080i 60Hz.

The PC is also using another LCD screen via the 2nd DVI port.

Another issue, is that now when I boot the machine, the screen must be on first otherwise it won't be recognised, even though I am loading the edid file manually. Until a few days ago, the PC could start with the screen off and would configure it properly.

Here is my nvidia-bug-report file.
You will note, that no matter TVTYPE I use, it will always be running in 1920x1080i

And the relevant xorg.conf:

Note, the no matter what resolution I set for the "Screen-Projector" , b it 1280x1024, 800x600, or in the card setting: HD720p, HD720i etc... It will always start in 1920x1080i 60z

Thank you in advance for your help

Forgot to mention that I eliminated any explanations that the screen could be faulty.
The same projector connected to my macbook pro (also a 8600GM card) or my Sony PS3, can configure the screen properly.

Reverted to the 100.14.19 drivers, and at least I can use 1080p again, but always at 60Hz.

Tried every version of the driver 169 and 172, none of them worked in 1080i with my screen.

Could it be my video card is faulty?
