Default GL with 2 X Screens

I'm trying to send GL to two displays from an 8800 GT card. I see two options:

- TwinView
- Two X Screens

I've tried both of these, and TwinView works flawlessly.

Using two separate X screens works on the first screen, but I'm unable to create the GL Canvas on the second screen unless I have:

Section "ServerFlags"
Option "Xinerama" "1"
EndSection

For a couple reasons, it would be easier for me to use two X screens (my primary screen is a touch screen, and the driver calibration is confused by TwinView).

Are there any performance benefits to using TwinView over Xinerama?

Any other advice as to why one of these options might be better than the other?
