My System:-
RedHat 9.0 Compaq Evo W4000 P4 2.0Ghz Two Samsung SyncMaster 191T monitors on a Quadro4 900 XGL AGP card. Model: Quadro4 900 XGL IRQ: 5 Video BIOS: 04.25.00.29.06 Card Type: AGP NVRM version: NVIDIA Linux x86 nvidia.o Kernel Module 1.0-4363 Sat Apr 19 17:46:46 PDT 2003 GCC version: gcc version 3.2 Attachments: XF86Config and XFree86.0.log (verbose) The Problem:- If I configure my two monitors as one wide display, (DISPLAY 0.0), some applications are confused about the display geometry. For example, Open Office thinks that A4 pages are really wide, and fonts are confused, they look to be double spaced and are really ugly. I can configure two displays (one on each monitor i.e 0.0 and 0.1), the geometry looks reasonable, but if I am not mistaken, I can only have hardware acceleration on the first display - is this right? Ideally, I would like one display (0.0) with hardware acceleration and snae geometry, however, hardware acceleration on both heads, and two sane (geometry wise) displays would be an acceptable (but not ideal) alternative. TIA Andy Regards Graeme Howlett. |
