You should be able to do that during install. Also, if you are dual booting with XP you could partition the drive through XP then install Vista to the partition of your choice.

Vista alone takes up approx 15Gb. Factor in games that may not install properly unless installed to the OS partition and 50Gb may get used up pretty quickly.

That's similar to what I'll be doing. I have a 250Gb samsung I'll use for OS, some stubborn games and apps, later I'll install another hdd for storage duties.

But what you listed will be fine. I don't think I would be comfortable with anything less than 100Gb for my OS partition.

i made a 120gb partition for vista rest backup

that is 232-120=112 for backup/storage this has to be enough for vista? and games like dx10 games

crysis
coh
wic
coj
bioshock etc

or is it too small?

That looks more realistic to me, I would just hate to see you stuck with wanting to resize a 50Gb partition later down the road. I still can't believe how fast I filled an 80Gb partition on XP!

Gigabytes aren't as large as they used to be...

Some motherboards have an option in BIOS to remap RAM that needs to be toggled.
