Default G Skill or Mushkin?

Looking for opinions obviously..

2x2Gb G Skill F2-8000
CL5-5-5-15
2.0 - 2.1V

Or

2x2Gb Mushkin XP2-8500
CL5-4-4-12
2.3V

Both are super stable, the Mushkin is a bit faster, but with higher voltages, and seems well thought of after googling forums, but I have heard all good things about G Skill also.

Leaning towards the Mushkin so far....

Thoughts guys? feedback appreciated.

A-Data. It's in the middle. But since it's between these, I'd say the G Skill, you can put tighter timings anyways.

I don't want to get you drunk, but, ah, that's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking.

Can you run a CPU at a higher clock than "spec"? How about the clock speed of the SPs in a video card? Or the RAM clock?

Of course you can, but it isn't guaranteed to work and you do it at your own risk.

I never knew I could lower ram timings.

So there's a chance CL5 will run at CL4?

I wouldn't say a good chance since it's a 2gb stick. I believe they are harder to tighten the timings on than a 1gb stick.

looking like it may be the Gskill then.

I'm a little apprehensive about tightening the timings though. I'm still trying to figure out the dividers on this Asus board (P5K SE).

Makes my head hurt.

what was that about timings 3+3+3+2=11 so 3-3-3-11 is good, or 4+4+4+2=14 so 4-4-4-14 is good (better than say 4-4-4-12)
is that right?

LoL WUT?

Is that a rule of thumb for timings? I've never seen that before.
