Default Re: 3DMark Vantage Benchmark Results Thread

I finally installed my copy of Vista Ultimate and SP1 so I could run 3DMark Vantage. Then I found out today you had to pay to run it more than once so I bought the basic version instead of trying out the free version. If I had it to do over again I'd have got the free version and uninstalled it after the first run. All I have to say is 3DMark Vantage is a big disapointment to me, it looks terrible. Of course my simple system didn't get a big score and I didn't expect it but the graphics in the demo are just terrible looking. So all in all 3DMark Vantage is a bust to me.

I didn't think about not getting the feature tests when I only bought the basic version, are the feature tests any good?

3DMark Score: P3536 3DMarks
CPU Score: 4794
Graphics Score: 3251

Jane Nash: 9.01 FPS - 48.8 FPS
New Calico: 10.05 FPS - 56.86 FPS
AI Test: 658.96 Operations/s - 4232.78 Operations/s
Physics Test: 6.47 Operations/s - 46.36 Operations/s

Do you still have your Ageia PPU card somewhere; might help get you the extra 177 points you need? And have you tried running it with explorer closed and with the quality setting set to performance in the nvidia control panel?

God damn dude...

Come on, I know you can hit 20k.

Use rivatuner and raise your frames rendered ahead, set quality to high performance, turn on all optimizations...

Something has to give you a few more points.

Also I can't believe that the first test is actually those screens we thought were fake with the Sapphire logo in the boat. As was said earlier, it looks like an Xbox 1 game. Take the fancy shader effects on the rocks away, and the water effect from the speedboat, and it looks like something that would have better place in 3dmark2001.

Second test is getting closer to what we expected, would there be Geometry Instancing used for the asteroids? There's quite a few and they look pretty good.

Yeah, that made me chuckle There is some pretty technical stuff going on in that one despite it looking a bit pap.

Agreed, it does look badass. Especially on max settings at native res.

Even though some aspects aint what many people thought, it does seem to be a good test of a system. I really does seem to take full advantage of quad GPU and CPU systems. I don't think there is anything else that does ATM.

This is a piece of crap. Seriously. WTF is up with the first test? It looks like crap! Maybe because it's running at 1280x1024. Although did you guys notice the jiggly boobies? PhysX FTW?

The second test is pretty cool. Looks a lot better than the first one and runs better too.

What's up with the second CPU test? I think mine was broken because the planes were in chunks flying everywhere like they were still attached....the only physics I saw was stuff hitting the balloon thingers.

There's no way I'm paying for this piece of crap.

Oh yeah, my score was 6200 ish. I closed the window and now I can't get to it again. And I can't run it again. Way to go futuremark.

I will say though, the program is nice and shiny.
