And the combat system...takes getting used to. I thought it would be a hack and slash through mouse...not the numerical keys....

Installed it last night but only got through the opening quest (about to do the Blacksmith quest outside the gates of Tortage next). So far I like it, I like the opening quest are instanced so there aren't 40 people running around kill the same 20 wolves and that there is a story element.
Grpahically, it auto loaded everything at medium, I clicked the High button and restarted the client and it looks pretty good. FRAPS says I'm between 45 and 90 fps across a variety of situations and there is only a tiny amount of hitching as new texture sets load. I haven't turned on AA yet, but AF is at 16 and I've got draw distances around 80%. We'll see what happens when I get into the main game world, but so far I'm impressed. And the little touches here and there really make the environment.

well i got the game last night, not going to get a new system until mid july, hopefully can hold out that long took all night to install, i tried it this morning before work, really hard to make a judgment since only played for about 15-20 minutes, it played on my system, but it probably put most of the graphic settings very low in order to play, because it looked so so, nothing special, and it was slow. |

well i got to play some more last night, i had to tweak my setting turned off all shadows, that really helped with performance, and getting about 19-29 fps on average which is playable, and sitll looking really good with high textures,
I am still going to upgrade my machine in a few weeks so far I am enjoying the game though did not get very far only just got to the city who knows if it will keep my attention long enough |

Turning off shadows is the quickest way to FPS with this game right now. I hope they fix the engine soon though.

I doubt I will continue playing, but I can say it was good - and quite bloody.

On another note about the patch, I am glad they put in the traders so early. Kudos to Funcom. They are looking like they really do care about their game and the service they provide to their customers. That is one thing that made WoW so successful. |

Good, I thought I was going nuts, I played for an hour earlier in the week and had no hitching, then after the patch I was wondering if I just didn't notice it at first. I cranked everything to high and it's overall a smooth experience, but I haven't turned on AA yet.
