I've taken a few years off from MMO's, so I'm having a blast. I am definetly playing on launch. Hope some of you change your minds! This game is amazing compared to the last game I was looking forward to (Vanguard...freakin Brad...) I will keep an open mind about Warhammer, but I hear it's a WoW clone, and I'm not much of a WoW fan, but we shall see..

I reinstalled the beta client and it's a different experience now, somehow. I might play at launch, I don't know. I'm at least certain that I'm done with WoW - I couldn't even play for more than a few minutes last time I installed it.

The game is pretty fun. My guess is the game will open up past level 20. As we all can tell, the first 13 levels are most certainly scripted for single player. Some old style MMO players might be turned off from that. I will give it a try to cap a toon out. If it doesn't change in the upper levels then I will treat it like a FPS single player game and put it on my shelf when finish with the main quest line.

Tortage is ok the first time through, but after that it's not that exciting, and it's the weakest part of the game IMO. Of course all of this was singleplayer only at one time, which is why it's done the way it was.

You can also level to 19 on doing quests in tortage day and then do the destiny quests quick.
It would've been fun having at least some parts open to groups tho.

there are group quests in the ob. Also. The game has a single player destiny series of quests. Whiche evryone has experianced in the open beta already. The game has massive outdoor zones, like every other mmo. This is what i have been told by someone i know who has seen more then tortage and thats all i will say. I'm not in the closed beta no.

I have read that the mem leak ahs been vastly improved and the client stabilized with regards to the shader and out of memory crashes. But how true that is coming from funcom i don't know. I'm very skeptical of them lol after the ao launch fiasco and the first 6 months of break stuff over and over.

This seems alot more polished and better by FAR compared to what ao was. I have pre ordered i will play. But funcom doesn't have any more then 2 months to prove their serious about supporting their product and the community this time.

for those that have not seen the game and are curious. This is a video of tortage, the starting town. part of the originally single player mode transitioned to online mode in the daytime, and single player during the nigth time. For the 'tutorial', before they changed it.

I tried the new closed beta patch yesterday and let me tell you its like a godsend.
It fixes the performance all around.

Before the patch I could just run everything on medium and after I could set everything to high and get more fps than before and have no lagging. The loading times have also been lowered alot.

All you performance worries are gone with the latest closed beta patch. So dont worry about that on retail it will run great! Its one of the best tweaked engines I have seen now.
There is no other game where I get that kind of graphics and that kind of fps in.
