Hello,
I am having trouble installing the NVidia driver for my Quadro NVS 140M. I am running the 32-bit version of Debian Lenny running Kernel 2.6.22. I followed these instructions and got the same problem as described in this thread. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any thread regarding this problem that actually solved my problem. Another thing is, that I am totally new to Linux and really like to try it, but would like to see something So please forgive me any dumb questions or missing knowledge.Whenever I try to run Code:
aptitude install linux-headers-2.6.22-3-686 |

I'm running Debian lenny as well. 2.6.22 is no longer in lenny so no wonder aptitude is confused, we've moved to 2.6.24. I suggest the following: started aptitude fresh from root and press the 'u' key to check for updates. Update any and all packages that have an update waiting. Then you should install the package: linux-headers-2.6-686 That package will always keep your headers up to date for you, without you needing to worry. Let us know how you get on. |

@ledoc:
According to the tutorial, unfortunately the needed packages are not available in testing. Therefore, the tut applies at the moment only for etch and sarge, though I didn't try to verify, whether the informatin is still applying. @Silverbak: Thanks, I just updated the kernel to v2.6.24 and everything ran through perfectly. Thanks a lot, it was a whole lot easier than I expected! Thanks again! |
