Default TwinView freezes the computer, blank screen after logout/restart/turn off

I am using 173.08 on my OpenSuse 10.3 laptop with dual 8800M GTX (no SLI) (Dell XPS M1730).

I was trying to use TwinView with my external monitor, both external and laptop LCD are 1920x1200. When I use NVIDIA X Server Setting on my KDE, and pressed Configure button for external monitor, and set TwinView, then pressed Apply, my computer locks, not Ctrl+Alt+Del or simple press to Power Button does anything, I had to press power button for 3 secs to shutdown. When I did that afterwards my KDE End Current Session, Turn Off Computer, Restart gives blank screen and nothing happens.

I am suspecting I corrupted some temp files perhaps, or locked some devices by TwinView crash on NVIDIA Xserver Setting GUI. I fsck the disk, it is okay. Reinstalled 173.08 and 169.12. The problem with blank screen persists. I checked /var/log/messages, there were several lines with NVRM: Xid, but nothing at the time of KDE End Current Session, Turn Off Computer, Restart.

Once again KDE End Current Session, Turn Off Computer, Restart was working fine before I attempted TwinView using NVIDIA Xserver Setting. The problem same for all users. So, some temp file may be causing, or something else corrupted.

Any ideas?
