I made a few tweaks last night and fired up the SLI guage and FRAPs to see what I was really getting, with vsync off I was averaging 85fps at 1680x1050 4xAA/8xAF and slider max, draw distance high, shadows medium. I'll play around with shadows more this weekend, but that used to really kill the DX9 client so I'm expecting the same.

Well I'm surprised to see how well it's working DX10 now. I remember months ago at 1920x1200, 2xAA and max settings (even shadows) it was really slow in Rivendell, now it's about 30-35 here, and 50+ in general. I hope it's stable, I played yesterday for about one and a half hours with no problems.

BTW monthly fees are lower now, however you must enter your account and change payment type for it to be effective. You must do it before june 1st, and you will have a discount forever if you pay every three or six months.

I've played several hours and it has been very stable, and yea, it runs far better than the early reports I heard as well.

Played for full 7 hours yesterday in DX10. Zero problems, full stable and great performance. Way to go!

Started playing LotRO a few months back. Extremely stable game and beautiful graphics; some of the best water and reflections I have ever seen.

Will probably play this until WAR.

So does the DX10 client improve performance because I see nothing that they couldn't have done with the DX9 client...

the water edge is softer and the shadows are cool compared to the dx10 version. I'll have to test the performance between the two later.

With full details it's a bit slower, because it uses highly detailed environment shadows that aren't shown in DX9 (see first page for comparison pics). Anyway I'm playing in DX10 at 1920x1200 with 2xAA on my 8800GTX and framerate is excellent
