From a technical perspective, I've never seen such a clean, solid conversion. Install it, jack up the settings and play. The damn thing actually runs and looks like it's got beefy PC hardware to back it up. Well, if you have a halfway decent rig, that is.

LOL! I panicked when hl2 didn't give me a weapon within 5 minutes!

I have to agree with many of the comments here though, technically and graphically this game blows away anything I've ever seen. I am just really really not used to this kind of gameplay, and yes, the story line has me pretty well hooked also.

If I leave the soundmax app open while launching the game, it works. if I close it it doesn't. Screwy, but repeatable.

Game looks beautiful!
omg.. fixed it.

Thanks grey_1

You have a point though, the action in this game seems lacking. I'm still trying to adjust to this game even after 9 hours of play.

I truly dislike how quickly the battles are over with. Hard to enjoy the fight when the fight is so quick and painless each time.

I also absolutely hate the auto cover system, its just too darn annoying. I'm constantly getting stuck to surfaces when I don't want to in the heat of combat. I want a damn button to stick and unstick to walls!!!

Oh tell me about it! When I saw "cover" I thought Gow and said OH YEAH! I love that system, this one is just painful.

Still waitting for this to popup here in the UK

but the lame ass -vert widescreen implementation is kinda off putting for me atm as i find it can really hurt gameplay, jeez after all the **** with Bioshocks TallScreen you'ed have thought Bioware would have made sure Demiurge Studios added +Horz for WS PC users after all the 4:3 crowd cant scream there well wornout WS advantage in an SP game now can they...

Seems they didnt manage get all that nasty consolise out after all....Heres hopping we can get some higher res/less pixelatent NPC skins and some proper WS support along with the rest of the fixes this game needs in an upcoming patch

For some reason this game feels ok to me in 16:9. Might feel slightly zoomed in but nothing bad enough for me to complain like Bioshock or GoW.

Again this Widescreen crap shows it's head. Look guys, the game is made with 16:9 in mind, so the widescreen you see IS the one Bioware wants you to see. The 4:3 mode is there, it works, you might see more, but it's not that much of a big deal. Far less than changing it to hor+ and ending up with glitches and seeing this you are meant to see in cutscenes and the like.

I know it's not quite like a movie directors vision, mainly because we can shift the camera around, but still, we need to get over this and just accept WS is the new standard and 4:3 is the odd one.
