The elevators are ridiculous... my computer is much more powerful than a console why do I have to wait through an unneccessary elevator loading sequence when I'm done loading after 5 or 10 seconds?? Oh yeah that's right it was developed for console first that's why.

This is definetly one of Bioware's weaker titles, I'd say I had twice the enjoyment with KOTOR. I'll finish the game, but I'm not expecting anything special with ME 2 or 3 with the fact they are being developed with the console in mind first.
Ok.... what about the story?

I'll say this again.... if you're looking for an action game w/ RPG elements, you'll be severely disappointed with ME. However, if you're looking for an RPG w/ action elements, you're going to love ME.

Mass Effect was built around the story. IT'S NOT AN ACTION GAME!!!!

...and elevators are annoying.

There's melee in the game, it's just automatic. Hold the trigger down the next time a Korgan charges you, and he'll get the butt end of your rifle.

Yeah the story is the best thing about the game. The game is decent, just not as good as I'd hoped.

yeah i totally agree

its not as good as i expected it to be either, i was so excited when it was announced for PC as heard so so many good things about it on 360

i find it a bit linear, good looking but iffy looking here and there in places, story is confusing to me as im not sure whats going on with so many side stories and the main story. the surround doesnt sound right on my xfi gamer and XP either and i find taking cover etc annoying and with no lean.

You have to watch the cutscenes and listen to what people say. You can't skip through all the dialogues like an ADD kid playing MGS.

OK, well... Maybe try the Prima Guide and follow it through. Or just give it time and see if it falls into place.

We all develop at our own pace, so don't be jealous if these guys get it before you do.

If you're having problems getting surround sound working with an X-Fi:

Early spoiler, not many hours in (HIGHLIGHT)

I would like to know a bit about how flexible this game is. First thing is that I got to the planet with the ruins, got inside the promethean caves or whatever. Rescued the blue lady suspended in mid air, then as I was going up I met a stupid Brogan and his lackies.

Questions!

1)Did anybody else find this bit hard, took me probably 5 goes to get through?

2)Can you choose to not save the blue lady and can you choose to give her up to the Brogan?

Nope easy peasy. Doesn't take too much skill if you've got your character quipped with a 200+ assault rifle and anti bio rounds. Remember to take cover! And also use your teammates special skills and your own!

2)Can you choose to not save the blue lady and can you choose to give her up to the Brogan?

I don't know, but I assume it wouldn't be possible - you need her to find out were the *spoiler* is.
