Dont rush. Take everything in. Even read the codex when you are bored or just need to take a quick break.

I'm still plugging away at this.

Didn't play it for like 2 weeks when I had surgery coming up. Just finally got back into it yesterday and put in like 10 hours in two sittings.

I have all of the collection side quests done (in fact I've found 4 or 5 extra of everything), and all of my other side quests done. I think I'm level 46 or 47. I have 10 million credits. Paragon is maxed.

And I'm just now getting to the Vermire system.

I like the game, though seems to have a similar downfall as Oblivion in the way that everything scales to your progress so things never really change much and the benefits of new weapons and armors are barely noticeable. Still, the game is keeping my interest even after doing all of those side quests, and most importantly, it actually WORKS, which is probably why I haven't dropped it to wait for patches like I did with STALKER and The Witcher (even though they were fantastic games, the glitches and quest bugs completely ruined it for me).

This isn't the most involved or rewarding RPG I've ever played but its a great game all around. I'm really glad I picked it up.

Code:
To remove the face shadows but keep the rest of them (even the body self shadows):

Go to C:\Users\*yourname*\ Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Config. At least that's what it is on my Vista64 installation. In XP it might be in My Documents or something.

Open "BIOEngine" with notepad and search (Ctrl+f) for "DepthBias=0.012000" (without the quotes of course)

Change this to "DepthBias=0.030000"

Save and exit.

And you're done

Also, to increase the overall quality of the shadows you can change "MaxShadowResolution=512" to "MaxShadowResolution=2048" or even higher (I got up to 8192 without any performance loss on my 512MB 8800GT.

Cheers

Yeah, Wrex is probably the coolest and best looking in terms of texture and motion. He really looks real.

I still think Garrus is a little more badass, even though they messed his texture up.

You know what I mean. Do not be a smart arse or I'll take your Witcher license and potions.
