Are you saying that the patch removed the 1680x1050 resolution? Ouch, if so I guess I won't be downloading it...

I think he was reffering to it clearing all your settings. You have to go trough and set your options again.

Installed the regular patch on my Steam version and it worked fine. But Garrus' face was still messed up. So I held out until today for the Steam patch and installed that an hour or so ago. Still no love.

WTF. Do they have a freakin monkey working at the Q&A department or even have a Q&A department for that matter?

Some heads are gonna roll today...

And if you're having issues with the game resolutions, it's because the patch overwrites the game settings and sets them back to default. Just run the MassEffectLauncher.exe and select the configure button. Word of warning though - it will reset the 5.1 sound and EAX again.

they fixed Garrus in gameplay and menus, I am told, but could not fix him in cutscenes or dialogue... God knows why it is so difficult.

That's a negative. I have multiple saves before and after I have Garrus in my party, and it's still low res.

And God forbid my ass to pay 5 bucks for DLC when they can't even get a FREE PATCH to work right. Freakin amateurs.

Well, i got it to work.

Game menu only displays 4:3 and 16:9 resolutions. so 1680x1050 was missing. Plus in game menu you still can't select/change aspect ratio. Can't believe they still haven't fix that.

In configuration app I was able to select 16:10 and proper resolution, game menu now thinks that it is running at 1680x1050 (16:9)

Did you patch through Steam? Everyone on the Bioware forum is saying the retail patch will install on Steam version, but not actually do anything. You need the actual Steam patch.

Yep. If you install the retail patch and have the Steam version installed, it'll do a check and install it anyways since they don't jive. I noticed this when it started verifying my game integrity, and then started downloading the game to "fix" it, then the patch. In between the downloads, I checked the game version, and it reverted back to 1.01. So I let Steam do it's thing and install that Steam'ed patch.

No such luck. Garrus' face is still like poop.

I played a little and didn't notice a difference either... weird. They said they addressed the issue, but didn't, and it can't possibly be a hard fix.
