For those that played Mass Effect and say Garrus' face looks no different, I honestly wish I had what you're smoking. If you compare Garrus to other Turians in the game (even the ones walking around doing nothing), there's a huge difference. And having Garrus in the parrty doesn't make things any more pleasant either since you have to look at his talents and what not (if you're not auto-leveling).

I mean, look at Exectutor Pallin's face when you meet Garrus for the very first time. HUGE difference. I mean, they're standing there arguing with each other and you're telling me you can't see a difference?

And then not even a minute later you have the meeting with the Council and there's another Turian there.

Let's not forget Saren.

Nihlus looked better than Garrus and he was only in the game for what, 10 minutes?

Look. Random Turian has better textures than he does.

And Garrus from the previous page taken from the argument with Executor Pallin.

ROFL.

If people say they don't notice a difference, then that's fine. The fact of the matter is that they said he was fixed, and he wasn't which kinda ticks me off. I've been holding off to play the game again just for this patch, and it was an utter waste of time.

8 months for this crap... Could have coded a whole half of a freakin' new game by now.

So I guess all Turans are supposed to look exactly the same? I kind of like the variation. When I first started reading about Garros' face "being all messed up", I was thinking maybe half his face was gone or something, or pixelated or triangles hanging out his jaw. Saw him for myself and just went, "so, what's all the hubba". Dunno man, if Garros' face bums some, I guess that's the way it is, it just doesn't bother me. I still think the dude looks kinda cool. Glad I don't have to play my games through someone elses eyes. As far as the patch, I wasn't expecting anything besides stability fixes as it was really the only thing I was concerned about (because I had experienced some).

i know how to change game resolutions but i cant select 1680x1050 it only goes up to like 1280x1024 let me re read stuff ina few mins

edit nvm

And if you're having issues with the game resolutions, it's because the patch overwrites the game settings and sets them back to default. Just run the MassEffectLauncher.exe and select the configure button. Word of warning though - it will reset the 5.1 sound and EAX again.

i looked in my steam folder and found what you were talking about thanks and sorry

Um the graphics are FAR better then KOTOR 2. I love the KOTOR series but they lacked in the graphics department in comparison to Mass Effect.

It's not that I can't tell the difference, it's that I rarely notice it. There is a difference.

Just pretend Garrus has facial scarring or something.

If any of you played ME on the Xbox there'd be no question about Garrus's face, it's been screwed on the PC since day one and never any hope of a fix. Pretty ridiculous.

Just out of curiousity I'd like to see those screenshot comparisons.

I don't know of any "screenshot comparisons" or anything, here's what I could find though:

http://s1.ipicture.ru/uploads/081228/ju46mxqBdp.jpg

from a thread on the Bioware forums complaining of the issue. It seems the texture detail is off for his face only. You can see that the face textures of every other character in the game are very detailed compared to his muddied up mug. So weird that a major issue like that has gone unfixed since the game's release almost a year ago (on PC).

You can actually see his normal high-res face texture by quickly swapping characters in the inventory screen, it's really weird.
