So I just recently got back my G1S to find out it had been "upgraded" to "G1Sn" which now has this ram issue with the 9500m GS. I am decently computer savvy and have been using Ubuntu for the past few months now... I don't to do anything that is going to hurt my current install... If I am reading everything in this thread correctly I can simply run the following lines of code:

Ok so this is obviously a dated guide but it has been the only thing I can find anywhere online (and I have been looking alot... I even spent close to 2 hours on live support with Asus) that might even help me get my full 4 gigs of ram working. Anyways I just tried changing the get commands to the latest kernel and it was working fine till I entered:
Code:
jeff@jeff-ubuntu:~/Kernal$ sudo apt-get build-dep linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.27.9-generic [sudo] password for jeff: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to find a source package for linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.27.9-generic ~Jeff |

User Fabian reported on Asus message board that memory remapping has been implemented on Ubuntu 9.10, so from on we should be able to use more than 2GB without problems like these.
I haven't tested Ubuntu 9.10 yet, since it's still a beta version and I think I'll wait for the final release. |
