I've just noticed, while doing a search, that even if the search comes up with no results there is still a 60 second wait to try again
. I'm sure it didn't used to be the case. Just wondered if it could be changed back? ![]() |

I have it fail just clicking "new posts" sometimes. It will make me wait 60 seconds even though I haven't even searched anything. This has been happening for a long time for me.

A table scan is still a table scan, just because nothing is returned doesn't mean your query didn't take some processing to complete on the database. Script kiddies could create an exploit on the search that could cause a DDoS without the "IP"/"Account"-based wait times.

Yeap, to avoid excessive queries. 60 seconds is pretty good really, especially since you can just google your problem and nVnews will probably pop on page 1 due to the amazing SEO.
