Tegra is much smaller than Atom, it can playback 720P fine and do the same stuff Atom with surf the internet, PDA, MID and mobile phone.

Tegra is a SoC with a GPU, Atom is a CPU alone, Atom + its GPU counterpart is miles ahead of Tegra, decoding 1080p HD with ease. The CPU in Tegra is something like a 1000 MIPS, Atom is over 3.5 times that. The SoC Atom next year will combine the CPU, GPU and chipset into one package the same size as Tegra, with 4x the performance.

Intel should grant nVidia Nehalem license, and nVidia should grant Intel SLI license. Let the user choose

(I choose Intel)

The SoC Atom's CPU will expect a boost in peformance but the GPU will not see a big boost due to SoC design, performance will be between GMA900 and GMA950 accorded to Intel. Like my UMPC used GMA900 and my cousin laptop with GMA950 ran HD contents horrible like 0.5fps.

Here wont be a X3100 like performance in SoC GPU until 2nd generation SoC due in 2010, that what i am hold on my UMPC for next 2 years before upgrade.

Now this is what I call competition. I was wondering for a long time what would happen to nvidia (as in what are their plans) and intel with this new chipset. I haven't read anything about nehalim yet, but everyone seems to think (well most) that its like the 2nd coming of christ.

However, this IS competition, and you can't really blame intel the whole 100% (legally you can) for wanting what is best for it. It's like nV and SLI.
Whether we all lose or not, well, that is yet to come.

As Revs said thats why it won't happen. Most people I think would chose an Intel board with Nvida GPU's. I would love to be able to use SLI on my Intel Chipset board, as imo Intel chipset baords seem to run cooler and a little more stable.

nvidia cant afford to give sli away to intel..because then nforce will die instantly. Intel is saying..well **** you guys, no future intel chips on ure boards..go **** off...not in soo many words though...

But this might give nvidia to maybe...step into cpus?

Exactly what I was thinking. IF that were to happen it would be very good for us end-users.

If Nvidia manages to make decent CPU, Intel is out of ****ing business big time...
