Exactly. Intel will never license x86 to NVidia.

Technically, you don't need x86 to run Windows or anything. If Nvidia comes up with new standard and makes Microsoft to support it through Windows....that would be nice.

Heck we might see new breed of personal computers as an outcome of this issue...

Or maybe Nvidia should make Video cards so they don't work with intel Chipset

You should look at the nForce Professional chipsets that nvidia makes for the amd opterons. They are far better then any intel workstation/server chipset I have run across. Just look at the Tyan S-2915 board for instance, it is a very nice and scalable board with far more IO bandwidth and memory bandwidth then any intel board I have seen.

I don't know, but it may be intel causing all the issues on the intel sli boards anyways. I have a 590sli amd board that has been rock solid for almost two years now.

And yet still has piss poor driver support and stability.

Right now I'm seriously rolling the dice. I'm running Vista with an nForce mobo and Creative X-Fi. I get a daily BSOD.

That sounds like your problem is the X-Fi.

I am runing EVGA 790i and Quad SLI, Vista 64 and have not BSOD yet.

I agree ,I know I for one will not be using SLI again unless it's done on an Intel chipset.After burning through a few sets of high priced ram with the 680i chipset I just cannot trust them.It sure would be nice if Nvidia would loosen up on it's hold on SLI.

These 2 are going to kill each other and they really need each other too like the AMD ATI sleeping arrangments.

Their greedy assholes holding the whole licencing crap in each others face, typical american business.
