Thumbs up Asus tech support

About 15 minutes on the phone, 5 of that on hold, and my RMA is in progress. First phone call no less. Very pleasant individual. Told him my bios flash was interrupted, he first double checked to see if the chip was replaceable, then got on the RMA straight away.

Given this and the stability of my board, I'll buy their products again.

Kudos to Asus tech support, raises my confidence factor in them a good deal.

Glad to hear that. I've found them to be hit or miss. When I was trying to RMA my last mobo through them, I just kept hanging up at "no" and calling back until I got someone willing to work on it.

When my old P5B Deluxe went bad, I called and with in 6 mins then had a RMA# and with in umm 2 week I had a brand new board that's in the wifes machine kicking ass. I love ASUS been using them since 1995.

i had a bios flash interupted about half way one time on my dfi nforce 4 board. it just locked up.

i restarted it and it said "bad bios flash, insert floppy" - it read the floppy and just reflashed, i was really impressed

your asus experience seems like my evga experience for rma's - really fast, good to hear it.

i usually stay away from asus boards becuase i hear they are generally unstable, maybe i'll pick one up

I've had great support from Asus on the only two occassions I've had to contact/RMA. I have a couple friends who wouldn't buy another Asus mobo if you put a gun to their head.

Hit or miss FTW apparently.

I've had great experiences with eVGA. Good to hear about ASUS, since that may be the brand of my new board. Maybe, maybe not.

The P5E I have now is only my second Asus product I've owned, very happy with both boards though. The bios flash was my fault because I used the software after being cautioned not to.

My only complaint about ASUS is their website setup for drivers, its a crappy interface and their DL server are SLOW.
