i had a power surge a week ago and it went through the USB's and killed my P5E3 Deluxe new too.

I heard bad things about Asus RMA so returned it to the store but they RMA'd it to Asus anyway. so got a very long wait i guess for a return

They are very nice on the phone, but the board that you get back from RMA is an insufficiently tested board that somebody else sent in.

got my P5E3 deluxe x38 RMA back from asus

was brand new replacement and they included more accessories

Asus are great. Every motherboard I buy from now on will be Asus. The p5k I have now is stable as a rock.
