Love the game, nothing really annoying when you move about and do stuff. Octacamo is really nice addition. I felt it was a bit much micro management in Mgs3 where you had to jump in and out of the pause menu to change cammo. Most things seems fluid now so you can focus on just play

The only bad thing i think is David Hayter's interpretation of an aging snakes voice ... Sounds like he's not been pooping since the last installment of the game. It's hard to connect the voice with the face so to say.

Mk-II is cute

I turned off and went to bed just after I beat the first boss fight, pretty cool one I think but they usually are.

Maybe I'll still give it a try even though I despise the idea of floating ? and !. But really, is there any chance I'll get what's going on considering I don't have the slightest clue as to what's been going on in the MG world as I've never played the game before? It may be a great game but does it really appeal to outsiders?

After putting some time into MGS4... man, it's awesome! I want to play some more but my brother demands me to wait until he comes over. Oh well.

BTW, ign gave MGS4 10 out of 10. Not that most of you care but still...

Stop right there. Go and buy Metal Gear Solid on PS1 or Windows and play it all the way then get Metal Gear Solid 2 for either PC or PS2. After that, play Metal Gear Solid 3 on PS2. Now you're ready to play Metal Gear Solid 4.

Or you could check Metal Gear Retrospective videos (6 parts) at gametrailers.com or go to the page at joystiq.com to get brief history on Metal Gear to prepare yourself for Metal Gear Solid 4.

I picked up MGS4 with a PS3 and then some....

Even though I know MGS very well, weapon controls require getting used to.

Imo, visually, MGS4 both surpasses & lags behind other games at almost the same time.

Still, very much worth the PS3 purchase and i'm only into Act 1 until now.

As a whole MGS4 looks better, yeah Uncharted would look better when comparing screenshots but you really gotta play MGS4 to appreciate the graphics.

so what is the total length of the cut scenes? was the single 1+ hour cutscenes thing a lie? just wondering about how much gameplay time there is versus cutscene.

Honestly I have no idea... none of the cutscenes FELT like an hour, but they very well may have been. The ending is probably the longest, but again... didn't keep time. There is a lot of gameplay here, a lot of story, and all of it is amazing. And I am with MaGuS, this is the best looking console title available... screenshots and videos do not do this game justice.
