PWNED. NVNEWS is always good about doing the right thing and they haven't closed this, so it's alright for discussion.

Well you are talking about illegaly modified releases for PC use that is against apples policey and mentioning what ones work with what. You also mention other forums where they can be disscused and obtained so let me try that.

Thats like me mentioning Dark Coders release works to bypass Far Crys CD and activation check and that you can find out more on TPB. Surely that post of mine would be deleted and I would get a PM...

Its the same thing as what you guys are doing yet for some reason you feel its ok to do it with a OS just not a game and that is just morally wrong and makes you no better then the pirates and it reflects on NVnews and MikeC. If hes cool with it tho then he should spreed his believe that its ok to pirate software and reprogram it against the developers wishes to all sections of the forum such as applications and gaming as well.

P.S. I hope Mike C has the time to read this post and gets back to me

My install of iAtkos Mac OS X totally crashed last night while working on a Word document. My battery ran out of juice and it just freaked my install out. Anytime I booted after that, my laptop would freeze. I guess I'm done with this project for now lol.

I installed Ubuntu 8.10 RC1 in it's place. Now my laptop feels better.

Apple does not sell OS X for Dell, HP and/or Acer PCs, they sell and restrict it only to Apple PCs. Thus downloading and toying with their software on (e.g.) Dell PC cannot make them any (financial) harm, as I cannot even officially buy it.

Pirates do make harm to (e.g.) Microsoft relasing cracked versions of Vista, as you can buy Vista for any PC currently being sold. They make no (direct) harm to Apple though. You cannot even buy Apple computer without OS X. And you cannot buy non-Apple computer with OS X.

Microsoft is loosing US$150 on each cracked Vista, but Apple is loosing exactly US$ 0 on each cracked OS X running on non-Apple HW. US$ 0 loss = freeware (not legally, but for practical purposes). It is Apple problem they restrict OS X by severe DRM only to their overpriced PCs with 2 USB ports, no eSATA and no HDMI port.

actually you can, one company is from Florida currently being sued by Apple, ane one company is from Argentina.

edit, there is also another company that made USB dongle that will install OSX on normal PC straight from retail OSX DVD.

anyone could recommend some cheap hardware to run mac on?

ther is a new bootloader that allows to install mac straight from retail DVDs, so I might try this.

You have a link to that? Sounds interesting, and I would like to give it a try.
