You may as well complain about how Microsoft puts pirates out of business for selling fake Windoze licenses.

After all, these are PATCHED versions of OS/X (DMCA violation) running on non-Apple hardware (Apple software license violation).

To Apple, these are nothing more or less than software pirates. They want to use Apple's OS in ways that violate Apple's terms of use.

No license from Apple was granted. No deal was signed with Apple to allow Apple's OS to be run on those machines. The company pirates deserved what they got.

The software on those machines would require Apple to provide support downloads, spend money handling tech support calls from clueless nimrods who bought pirate machines that quit working, etc.

So, let's put it some other ways to drive this home...

How would Apple respond if someone cloned the iPod and used Apple's iPod code to run it?

How would Micro$uck respond if people started using the ZUNE code on cloned hardware (not that anyone would bother)?

How would Cisco respond if people started putting Cisco's router software on cheaper non-Cisco hardware?

How would ASUS respond if someone made motherboards using the same chipset and ASUS' BIOS?

How does the movie/music industry respond when people sell bootleg CDs/DVDs as if they're the real thing?

China is chock full of fake warez with designer-like labels. What happens whenever a container-load is found on U.S. soil? It's destroyed.

Beyond the straight-up THEFT, Apple certainly doesn't want to get the same kind of black eye that M$ gets when vendors stick Windoze Shista onto cheap, flaky junk that can't run it well. Or even high quality hardware that can't run it well. OK, it's a fluke when anything runs Shista well, but that's not the point. When you VIOLATE THE TERMS OF USE, Apple shouldn't have to support it, but when they hack up the OS, Apple ends up PAYING to support those bootleg machines, and their reputation for quality is SHOT by the performance of those bootleg machines, just as Microsoft ends up providing patches to pirated Windoze machines.

from the link, you couldn't wish for better proof of apple fan stupidity, pure gold.

LOL wow what a ****ing tool

I don't think Psystar patched OSX. I thought they just tricked the software into thinking it was running on a mac... His analogies suck. It's more like adding a chip to your computer to enable a feature.

no one knows here for sure, but it is possible that EVGA might use this as marketing.

Anyone still running their Hackintosh? I screwed my netbook up when I installed the Win7 RC1 and never got back around to reinstalling OS X. Oh well, in 5-6 more months I'll have the real deal
