Here is the guide I referred to. Also, you'll probably want to scan InsanelyMac for some X58 installs if you plan on installing SL to your i7 machine. I think there are some i7/X58 specific kexts/modifications you'll want.

So the website dedicated to the MSI Wind got shut down or the admin didn't pay the hosting bill. No Snow Leopard for my netbook . . .

Pretty sure there's a good thread over at InsanelyMac on how to get SL on an MSI Wind. In fact, I think one of the contributors is the guy that use to run the website you referred to. Not sure though. You'll have to check it out.

A kext file is sort of like the Mac equivalent of Windows device drivers. People have written various kexts to do certain things in Leopard and Snow Leopard. It use to be that you had to add kexts to a Leopard installation or modify native OS kexts to get certain things to work right. Now, instead of modifying the OS's kext files, a bootloader, like Chameleon, can "inject" kext files into the OS at boot. In this way, none of the OS's files get modified and such installations are called "Vanilla" for that reason (i.e. no modification of the OS's native files or file structure).

Thanks Brady.

They were so close to creating a single ISO to install Snow Leopard but I can't find it.

That would be it!

I've been downloading the ISO all day, not a lot of seeders. Should be done late tonight so I'll be able to try it out tomorrow at work.

brady, what motherboard would you recommend, for a simple install? something cheap, and maybe with integrated graphics for now

This was a good, simple guide. Something to take a look through at least.
