I got OSX86 working in a virtual machine.

I used the following:

VMware Workstation 7.0.1 build 227600
Kalyway 10.5.2 (Default install, don't select any drivers)

Settings for VMware:

FreeBSD machine setup (32-bit), use default everything and enter whatever size you want for the hard drive.

It boots and installs fast and runs pretty fast too.

I got SL working on my machine.

E6600 -8GB - Gigabyte EP45-UD3L - 260 GTX

Works like a charm except I need to use analog audio as I can't find a setup to get digital audio out of my ALC888 on this mobo.

So instead of reading through all 18 pages (or 346 posts)...

I just noticed that Mac OSX Snow Leapord only costs $29.99 from Apple direct.

If I wanted to try running Mac OS on my i7 920... what do I do? Is it as easy as purchasing a copy from Apple and simply booting from the DVD to install it?

No, you have to buy it, read through the entire thread, then install it.

Only problem with the Snow Leopard install is that it requires a Leopard install to patch the files and add the EFI. I am working on that atm...

Just completed a successful install of Mac OS X 10.6.6 as I rarely if ever play any games on my PC anymore. Got everything installed correctly(even my sound card) except of course for my ntfs RAID discs!

I tried the lifehacker guide, but couldn't get it to work, so I tried the iBoot method and lo' and behold it was working perfectly after about 30minutes when I put almost 5 hours into converting the OS X install DVD to a dmg and putting it on a USB-stick. So for everyone who wants to try it I'd say go for the iBoot method first!

Love the new App Store and the boot times on my SSD are insane(10s if that!)!

With iBOOT?

It doesn't mention that

YOU WILL NEED

* A computer running an Intel Processor
* A blank CD
* A Mac OS X Snow Leopard Retail DVD

so what gives ,Is it legal to use an upgrade disk for a full install or am I getting it wrong?
