Very nice Vin.

Got me thinking of where I can score a cheap but decent D620 or 630...may go this route. Thanks for the informative updates.

Make sure you get one with an Nvidia card. Odds are it will be supported out of the box by Snow Leopard. Otherwise you will need to use kext's (aka drivers) or a DSDT to get it to work, and typically it won't have all the features.

Right now the only thing that doesn't work on mine is the Shut Down and the Sleep functionality. But with a journaled OS, it's ok if you don't let it finish completely before just hitting the power button to turn it off. I will keep messing with other drivers and see if I can get them to work as well.

Ah so no intel onboard graphics. Somehow that doesn't bother me

I may have missed it but which card does yours have Vin?

Mine is a Quadro NVS 135M. I didn't need to do anything, it was recognized out of the box by Snow Leopard. The video out (VGA port) works too finally.

Just a FYI guys - OSX 10.6.7 was released recently. I just updated my MacBear PC. Make sure you guys all do the same!

Thanks for the heads up BC. I am going to hold off on updating my laptop until I get confirmation that MultiBeast patches it nicely.

Ya I was hesitant to do it but I wanted to try. It seems to be working great, AFAIK.

I said what the heck and downloaded and installed the Combo Update. Everything seems to be working fine. I didn't need to run MultiBeast again or anything.

DD has a Dell Vostro up for sale in the FS section that would be a nice candidate for a hackintosh.

If any of you buy it and would like to run OSX10.6.x, post here. Maybe I can help you get it going.
