I have an older 2x dual core intel server board with an EFI bios. I wonder if I could get a hackintosh install working on it?

EFI isn't required. The bootloaders spoof the OS into thinking it's a Mac anyways. Check out iBoot and Multibeast if you're interested. The site is designed for installation using a retail OSX disc. You should check the hardware compatibility list too to make sure all your components will work.

Definitely. I run OSX on a secondary drive on my laptop. My desktop and HTPC are Win7 only, and my main drive on my laptop is Win7/Ubuntu, so if my OSX install goes down, it doesn't matter.

If you can build a Hackintosh for on the cheap and have it working 100%, then more power to you. I know some guys who want to build one but they would rather save a little extra cash and get the real deal.

Got 10.6.8 installed and booted. Lost my audio, working on getting that back. Need to install my PS2 and Battery kext's still, but those can wait for now until I get my audio going. I will post a summary once I get it all up and going. Depending on how it goes, I may purchase Lion and give it a go next week sometime.

Got my sound, speedstep, battery, wifi, and bluetooth all working in 10.6.8. No Lion yet (need to wait for an update from Tonymac) but this works great for the time being. Once I get a real job I will probably buy a Macbook Pro, but until then, this works just fine

Install Lion on VMWare in Windows:
http://www.sysprobs.com/working-meth...ows-7-intel-pc

You also need to create your own Lion boot disk in VMWare:
http://www.sysprobs.com/create-boota...ased-computers

Requirements:
VMWare 7.x
Intel C2D or higher CPU
Working copy of Snow Leopard on VMWare
OS X Lion purchased and downloaded onto Snow Leopard VM

I made the disk last night, I haven't gotten around to try installing it yet. You try this yet Bearclaw?

I will post back when I go through with it.
