Lol what crap

Im going for the GX2 then when the prices come down. wth were they thinking?
same here, i will wait to see ATI reviews, if also nothing special, i'm going to buy GX2 then.

GTX 280 should cost no more then 450 to match it in price with GX2

Yeah Im waiting for the 4870 reviews also

but as it is now the nvidia 200 series is a big disappointment. They are priced totally wrong for the performance. And its not the 9800GX2 is an ATI card its their own. I really dont know how they came to this decision.

Meh, not enough of an improvement for me to consider buying one.

The only current game that gives me any significant performance problems is Crysis and 10 more fps average is about a quarter of what is needed to smooth that game out.

Looks like I'm saving $600 this time around.

Numbers look good.Probably a few driver revisions to reach its full potential.

I guess we have to wait for a few driver releases to start getting the best out of the card.

I'm disappointed with those tests, so I'm not upgrading yet. €550 for those cards is a complete ripoff, similar performance than 9800GX2 (and worse in some cases).

Booooo

Actually what I think is ironic is that everyone is complaining about a card that fixes all of the things that people didn't like with the GX2. They both offer similiar performance which should be expected when they both came out in the same timeframe.

Just think if the GX2 never surfaced there would only be benchmarks between the 9800GTX or 8800GTX versus the GTX 280. Everyone would be raving about the massive gains that are present.

And if they both offer similar performance, shouldn't offer similar price too?

I think people are complaining because this card was supposedly an enormous improvement in every way, but in fact its being beat by 2 $170 cards in SLI in some benchmarks.

The PR crap was saying that each stream processor was 40% faster than the previous generation of stream processors, and now there is 240 of them.

Memory bandwidth has finally increased dramatically (SLI doesn't double the usable memory bandwidth) and we have a real 1Gb of usable memory.

Despite all that, it just isn't that much of an improvement over cards that are a year and a half old, where as the 8800GTX totally stomped the competition and all of those cards were only a few months old (7900GTX, 7950GX2 and 8800GTX were released within 8 months). In most games, one 8800GTX was faster than or roughly equal to 7950GX2 quad SLI, 7900GTX SLI or x1950xtx crossfire, and those were all high end cards.
