i have the same problem...nvidia customer care say :

"Thanks, Luigi. Sounds like more work is needed in the software. Since this could be a driver issue, or both(ESA tool and driver), please report it here. Hopefully a solution will be out soon.

please you also reported the problem to make it correct.

1.Nvidia demo Human Head - 105 C in 15-20 minutes
2. Age of Conan login screen - 105 C in 15-20 minutes
3 Crysis looking constantly to the sea through a scope or directly to the ground - the same.

So i came to the conclusion that the card overheats only when its dealing with heavy shaded scenes and not simply by heavy load.

If anyone would like to confirm any of the above i would appreciate it.
I got 105C in quake wars but not in the head demo. Have you tried the Medusa Demo? I'm getting it now

edit: if I let the human head demo runs for about 5 minutes the GPu gets to 105C.

what fan speed are you using? I'm having to use 100% and it gets to 105C.

i let the fan at auto speed but it runs definitly under 100% because my defective card was realy loud

Edit: the fan runs up to 75-80% by 75 you can hear it but its not too bad you should RMA it its 100% faulty =(

In idle I prefer 30 %, because at 30 % it really gets quiet . What bothers me: at 100 % the cooler gets so loud that it might awaken people in the other rooms of my house during night. But for games like crysis I need to set it on 100 % to prevent overheating.

Yes of course, but the temps get back to normal pretty fast.
