Gah, you kidding me? Is the E8600 and Core 2 Extreme QX9770 the end of the line? I tried to search for when and what the next Intel cpus will be but found nothing.

pretty much every higher end DFI board runs for $200+.

the last two motherboards i have owned are DFI boards (before this i had the nF4 Expert board) and i gotta say, i love DFI boards. i dont think ill ever go to another manufacturer. these things are just straight up quality.

i dont think id ever spend over $300 though.

Don't waste money on any more Nvidia chipsets now if you want stability. As soon as Nehalem and the X58 come out I'm gonna ditch SLI and go for Intel board, maybe even sooner depending on how good the 4870X2 is.

Why is it so expensive? No one makes a 790i board for <$200???
Whatever mb you get just make sure that both pci-e slots run at x16 when two video cards are plugged-in. Some mb's pci-e slots will revert to x8 (i.e. x35 & x45) when the second card is added.

The problem is if people buy $350 motherboards they keep making them. I'd never spend more than $150 for a motherboard. I buy most of mine as open box from Newegg.

I've always wondered if they actually come with like, heatsinks and audio headers (like, the old dfi board had an audio addon, some assus ones doo too). Do you usually get everything and they just say you don't get any accessories to cover their butt if one is missing?
