This is the power supply i have now...running almost for a year, and it does kick ass job. I got 6pin to 8pin cable adapter with PSU. Do you think that my 6pin can provide enough juice through 6-8pin cable adapter for a card? 6pin connector can provide 170W by reading spec sheet, that enough?

With an 850w Rosewill PSU, what are you worried about?

I was saying to use only 2x6pin connectors, one with 6 to 8 pin adapter. I read letter from nvidia on evga site that it's not recommended to use two 6pin cables to connect to 26pin-8pin adapter.

A 6-pin can only provide 75W of power. If your PSU has 3 availalbe 6-pin cables (which I'm sure it does), you can use a dual 6-pin to single 8-pin PCI-E adapter which should come with your card, then you should be set.

If you have a PCI-Express compliant motherboard, you may be able to get away with the 6-pin to 8-pin adapter. PCI-E 2.0 slots give 150W of juice to the card instead of 75W. That would help. My motherboard is not PCI-E 2.0, but I still seem to be O.K. I have a 750W power supply.

I wouldn't gamble. The 8-pin can deliver 150W of power, and to match that you really do need two 6-pin connectors. It's better safe than sorry.

Aren't the two extra pins just redundant grounds? I'm pretty sure they are.

How about my 620hx? It's powering my 9800gx2 which is overclocked right now (but it's 8 pin goes directly into the psu (modular), and on the site it says 6+2).

The 620HX is fine for this card. Minimum is 550W with combined 12V current rating of 40A.
