I forgot to ask one more question

since I will be getting the GTX260, I know it needs some sort of special power adapters from the power supply, does the Power Supply I picked out have it? Or is it standard from all new power supplies?

I am a bit unsure about that last piece? Something about an 8 to 6 pin?

I am thinking of going for the corsair 750 TX for $99

http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-tx-7...206178325.html

Save me some bucks, thanks bacon12 for that link

I believe the 260 has the normal 2x 6 pin power connectors where as the 280 has 1x 6 pin and 1 x 8 pin.

That case will not have enough air flow. Get this one, it has 120mm fans instead of the 80mm fans of the other case you want and this one is $10.00 cheaper.

I would get the ATI 4870 over the Nvidia GTX-260 ,the ATI 4870 may just have 512mb of memory ,but that memory is GDDR5 and the bandwidth is about the same as the GTX-260 and when useing FSAA the 4870 even beats the GTX-280 in some games .It has no problems running at high resolutions 2560x1600 with just 512mb of memory ,just because of the GDDR5.It is cheaper then the GTX-260 and beats it in most benchmarks and with FSAA on it is just that much better IMO.Just check some reviews sites and they will show you that the 4870 is a pretyy dam good card, and running two of them in crossfire is just that much better.

Hmm?

They are around the same price at most stores. Only one 260 is $300 with a $40 mail in rebate.

Most are still over $330.

The 4870 is around $300-$310.

I gotcha but you could always use a HDD enclosure made by Lian-li or cut one in, the case I mentioned is not stamped steal inside. Either way better air flow is what your after both are good so you win either way good choice.

ok need your help again guys i was all ready to order when I noticed the price for the memory went up in price $100

but i was doing some searching and found this memory by same company G.Skill for $119

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231184

It looks almost the same, I cannot tell the difference?

am i missing something?

original memory i was going to get was this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166

which is now $189

I did not realize price would jump that high, I am sure it was $89 before unless I am just seeing things..and it always was $189

It was on sale last week, and if I needed it I would have bought it.

I can recommend some good ram for less money than that gskill.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220293

I have 8 gigs total from patriot and haven't gotten a bad stick yet.

yeah i should have paid more attention oh well lesson learned

so that other memory i linked what is the difference though? price not much different, and it looks same specs no?

that patriot is only PC-6400,

the G.Skill is both PC-8500, which I know is faster

I don't know the differences between these memories they all look the same to me LOL

ok found this one OCZ for $94.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227298

I think I will just go for that one has good reviews, and is cheaper at this point I just want to order and not take a chance and have prices go up anymore. I hear OCZ is good memory, and memory is memory right?

So here is what I ordered what it final looks like:

LIAN LI Lancool PC-K7B Aluminum/ SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case $89.99

XFX GX260NADDU GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready LI Supported Video Card $379.99

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply $129.99 - $20 MIR = $109

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2P10664GK $94.99 - $10 MIR = $84.99

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard $107.99

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 $194.99

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive $94.99

SAMSUNG 22X DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223F $28.99

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit English for System Builders 1pk DSP OEI DVD $99.99

Subtotal: $1,221.91
What's this?Tax: $101.79
Shipping: $31.69

Grand Total: $1,355.39

I went with the XFX GTX260 model, because it comes with Call of Duty 4, which I do not have and want to get anyway, and is worth $50, and the XFX is Overclocked and has lifetime warranty, so is worth it, plus the MSI at $300 has only 1 year warranty

I am still spending $100 less then my dell even with shipping and tax and getting a much better system especially the video card, so I am happy thanks everyone

Once i get all the parts and have it together will post some pics
