Ok, Ive done some searching on these forums and they helped me get a little further than were I was, but I still cant even get the kernal to compile yet.
Im old school microhell so I am realy out of 'terrestial waters' When I tried 'make install' on the NVIDIA_kernel ect it tells me the error that some have seen about a discrepency in the compiler version. I finaly figured out how to try to set the IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH by doing 'env IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH=1 ./NVIDIA_ etc' however it gives me this error 'permission denied' its as if Im not alowed to change the settings for that particular folder, however im in root and should have full read/write access to that folder. The only thing I can think of is that Im booting off the start up disk that red hat askes you to make during installation. I updated red hat, and now I have 2 kernals versions I can run, but the disk is off the first one, and i dont know how to make a new disk. Ive looked everywere to find out how to do this and am not getting any were. |
